Born in 1911, Cyril Loon Yaun Ming Kim, is one of four Kim family members who enlisted in WWII.

Yaun joined the Army and became a Lance Corporal on the Road Trains that worked through Central Australia and up to Darwin. [He was] fondly known as Doc with his Army mates, due to his care for them when they were sick or hungover. He always talked about Alice Springs, Daly Waters and Darwin.
