The Dragons Amidst Us  

Experience an exhibition about the power and significance of the Chinese dragon in this family friendly exhibition.

Dragon Scale Making ($5 per scale-making kit, pay on the day)

Make your scale to place on the Sustainable Dragon created from up-cycled base materials.  

In the Path of the Dao: Get your fortune told ($5)

Have your fortune read for 2024 Year of the Dragon by representatives from the Australian Daoist Association: will this be your lucky year?

Lantern Making Workshop ($5 per lantern making kit, pay on the day) 

Make your own traditional Chinese lantern to take home!

Including One Million Stories, Han Dynasty Everlasting, Finding Gold and the magnificent Dragon Gallery.

1.55pm and 3.30pm (approx) out the front of the Museum's main entrance.  

Chinatown Street Festival

Dragon Parade: Melbourne's 63 meter long Millennial Dragon emerges from the Chinese Museum's main entrance at 11am, for its final preparations. Millennial Dragon commences parading from the front of the Museum at 11.45am.  This is one of Melbourne’s most iconic parades, especially in 2024 when it will show off along the streets of Melbourne in celebration of its namesake Year of the Dragon.
