About Xiaoping Zhou Xiaoping Zhou was born and studied in China, before coming to Australia in 1988. Since then he has spent much of his life in Aboriginal communities in both Arnhem Land and the Kimberley. Xiaoping’s collaboration with Jimmy Pike led to the first exhibition of Aboriginal art work in China at Jiu Lu Mi Art Museum in Hefei. And in 1999 both artists exhibited at the National Gallery of China in Beijing. In 2011 Zhou’s work was exhibited with that of the late Johnny Bulunbulun in Trepang, the Capital Museum, Beijing and at the Melbourne Museum, and the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. Since immigrating Zhou has written two books on his life and work and has led 36 solo exhibitions in Australia and overseas.
