The Legend of the White Snake – A Timeless Tale of Love

Celebrate the Year of the Snake with this unique artistic experience that highlights the enduring power of this ancient myth across cultures and generations. 

Woodblock Printing ($10 per kit, pay on the day) 

Make your own Zodiac woodblock printing and bring good fortune home.  

Stone Rubbings ($8 per kit, pay on the day) 

A children’s workshop making stone rubbings for bringing good fortune, such as happiness, prosperity, long life and good luck to the home during Chinese New Year. 

Lantern Making Workshop ($5 per lantern making kit, pay on the day) 

Make your own traditional Chinese lantern to take home!

Chinatown Street Festival

Dragon Parade: Melbourne's 63 meter long Millennial Dragon emerges from the Chinese Museum's main entrance at 11.15am, and parading around Chinatown until 12.45pm.  This is one of Melbourne’s most iconic parades, especially in 2025 when it will show off along the streets of Melbourne in celebration of its namesake Year of the Snake.
