Students will learn about the significance of dance in Chinese culture and celebrations.

Our instructor will entertain and mesmerise students with a short performance demonstrating three different styles of fan dancing.

Students will then participate in an interactive workshop, where they will learn simple Kung Fu and Tai Chi style movements and steps using short folding fans. Students will be guided to create a short dynamic dance and movement piece. 

In this workshop, our trained Chinese dance instructor will teach students basic traditional Chinese dance and movement in your own school/institution as part of our Travelling Museum Program.

Multiple sessions for up to 3 hours including breaks can be catered for and will run on a rotating timetable

Duration

All sessions are 45 minutes long with a short break between multiple sessions.

Requirements

A large hall, gymnasium or multi-purpose room, with access to power for audio equipment is required. The dance instructor will bring all workshop equipment and will play recorded music.

If using a large hall, we will require your school to provide a microphone and sound system that supports music to be played via a USB.

For multiple sessions, we require one designated room for the whole program where each class/group of students come to us. It is difficult for our instructors to move from room to room.
